Renee's strong work ethic and can-do attitude make her a favorite among fellow entrepreneurs, while her experiences owning and running several successful enterprises have taught her much about the challenges of running a profitable small business.
Renee's professional journey has taken her from the offices of a North Shore financial research firm, along the roads of entrepreneurship, and into the rapidly-evolving arena of accounting, QuickBooks®, Xero, and small business consulting. She brings the skills she has gathered along the way, blending her Northwestern University education in the field of Organizational Behavior with an MBA (accounting concentration) from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Renee deeply values ongoing continuing education in accounting, QuickBooks, Xero, software integration and business systems management. She possesses sound analytical skills and is a CPA candidate in the state of Illinois.
On a personal note, Renee resides in Buffalo Grove with David Melville, has 3 sons and 2 stepdaughters, and a cherished black lab. She enjoys travel, nature, gardening, self-improvement and personal financial investment. Renee's childhood in Vernon Hills, IL gives her deep roots in the community.
Lynsey is a senior bookkeeper with Sharp Point. She is a DeVry University graduate and has over 18 years of accounting experience working with businesses of all sizes, from large corporations to small startup companies. For the past several years Lynsey’s passion has been helping small business owners succeed by taking over their day to day bookkeeping tasks so they can concentrate on their marketing efforts and growing their business.
Lynsey is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and is also proficient in Microsoft Great Plains. She treats her clients like she would treat a family member and her dedication to her client’s success is apparent in everything she does. Lynsey’s background includes tax preparation, payroll, sales and use tax, and complex software conversions.
Lynsey is a native of the Gurnee area and currently resides on the Illinois/Wisconsin border in Beach Park. She is a very family orientated person. When Lynsey is not working she enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities with her teenage nieces and two year old twin niece/nephew. Her favorite times of year are summer and fall. She can also be found spending her free time doing DIY projects.
Serena is a senior bookkeeper with Sharp Point. Her background of college level accounting courses and small business ownership make her ideal for her role in the firm. Serena has been using QuickBooks as a bookkeeping tool since 1995 and has extensive experience working in the contractor and restaurant industries.
Serena prides herself on her attention to detail, problem solving ability, accuracy and strong commitment to any client she is working with. She has a wide range of experience in small business back office procedures, including payroll, sales and use tax filings, and compliance reporting issues.
Serena was born and raised in Oregon. In her time outside of work, Serena enjoys spending time with her fabulous fiancé, Steve, and an amazing five year old son Luke. She loves shar-pei’s, horror movies and traveling throughout the U.S.
Karen, a senior bookkeeper with Sharp Point, has a strong computer background in financial and business software. And she likes numbers. . . a lot. She’s an experienced QuickBooks trainer and mentor with over 25 years of helping small business owners attain better record keeping, better business practices, and a better bottom line.
Karen has worked with a wide variety of clients including contractors, retailers, day care operators, manufacturers, and not-for-profits. She enjoys the challenge of analyzing each company’s bookkeeping needs and finding the best ways to utilize today’s changing technology and software to achieve their goals. The depth and breadth of her knowledge in the small business arena provide great value to her clients.
Karen and her husband Dave live in the northwest suburbs with their Boston Terrier, Roger. She is a big fan of Dr. Who, strong coffee, and red cowgirl boots.
Patty is a QuickBooks Expert with Sharp Point Bookkeeping Solutions. She enjoys being part of a smaller firm and our flourishing team of professional women. Patty’s strong background in manufacturing led to her current career in accounting, and brings a valued depth of knowledge to clients in that industry.
Patty prides herself in strong organization skills, her attention to detail and above all, her loyalty to her clients. In her mind, emphasis on clients’ success and satisfaction is the key to a great working relationship.
Patty was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She currently lives in Gilberts with her husband Boris, their two children, and two lovable dogs. In her time off, Patty enjoys being a soccer mom and is her children’s biggest cheerleader.
Katie is a bookkeeper with Sharp Point. She began using QuickBooks when running her own small agricultural business and has been hooked ever since. With her QuickBooks skills in tow, Katie spent several years working in the architectural metals and manufacturing field, where she successfully juggled bookkeeping, logistics, procurement, inventory management, and inside sales roles.
Along with a friendly face, Katie brings a strong attention to detail and her passion for process flow and organization to the clients of Sharp Point Bookkeeping. As a former small business owner, Katie understands the importance of accurate financials businesses of all sizes to make sound decisions.
Katie and her husband are proud Wisconsinites. A nature-lover at heart, she enjoys gardening and hiking. She survives Midwest winters by dreaming of the return of weekend visits to the beach in SE Michigan with family.
Deb is the Office Coordinator with Sharp Point and brings 24 years of administrative experience to the firm. Her mission is to improve the quality of life of those she impacts, including clients and team members, by striving for excellence in all that she does. She is committed to providing exceptional client care.
Deb has excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities which she utilizes to effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the firm. She is hard-working, reliable, and honest. Her communication skills and ability to listen effectively make her responsive to client needs. Deb is friendly, helpful and polite, and has a good sense of humor. She is always enthusiastic to learn and undertake new challenges.
Deb was born and raised in the Midwest. She currently lives very happily with her husband and their wheaten terrier, T.J., in Arlington Heights. She has two beautiful adult children and a greyhound grandpup, Ruby. When she is not working, Deb loves to cook, sew, work in the garden and spend time with her family. If she had more time, she would play Lord of the Rings online and foosball a lot more.
